The Consensus Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for Egbeda/Ona-Ara Federal Constituency, Hon. (Dr.) Ezekiel Temitope Oladimeji, popularly known as OTOPE, on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, paid a strategic thank-you visit to the PDP Executive Committee in Egbeda Local Government at the party secretariat, in appreciation of their unwavering support for his emergence as the party’s consensus candidate ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The visit, which further deepened party unity and strengthened grassroots confidence, was described by political observers as a significant move toward consolidating support structures across the federal constituency.

According to a press statement signed by Mr. Segun Akinlabi, Media Aide to Dr. Oladimeji, the visit was specifically aimed at expressing heartfelt appreciation to the leadership and executive members of the party in Egbeda Local Government for their commitment, loyalty, and collective resolve in ensuring the emergence of Dr. OTOPE as the PDP consensus candidate.

Receiving the candidate and his team, the PDP Chairman in Egbeda Local Government, Chief Olawale Alawe, lauded Dr. Oladimeji for the thoughtful and mature gesture, describing the visit as a demonstration of humility, gratitude, and respect for party leadership.

Chief Alawe used the opportunity to reaffirm the total support of the party structure in Egbeda for Dr. OTOPE’s candidacy, assuring him of massive mobilisation and strategic grassroots engagement toward securing victory at the polls.

“In Egbeda, we are one, and we remain fully committed to your candidacy. From this moment, we shall work tirelessly, mobilise massively, and ensure that the mandate of the people is reclaimed and delivered for you to represent Egbeda/Ona-Ara Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives, Abuja. We wish you resounding victory ahead,” Chief Alawe stated.

The visit further underscores Dr. OTOPE’s leadership style anchored on gratitude, party loyalty, and inclusive grassroots politics, qualities that continue to attract wider acceptance and growing support from stakeholders, party faithful, and community leaders across Egbeda/Ona-Ara Federal Constituency.

With momentum rapidly building across both local governments, political analysts believe the latest development has significantly boosted the confidence of supporters and reinforced the growing perception that Dr. OTOPE remains the rallying point for victory in 2027.
