The Executive Chairman of Ido Local Government, Hon. Sheriff Aderemi Adeojo, has commended Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, for his administration’s free health mission programmes, which bring adequate, prompt, and free healthcare directly to residents doorsteps across the Pacesetter State.

Hon. Adeojo shared these remarks during a one-day stakeholders meeting on high-delivery IMPACT Project indicators for reproductive, maternal, newborn, and child health (RMNCH) at the Ido Local Government Hall.

The state-led IMPACT Project revitalizes Primary Health Care Centers (PHCs) to boost grassroots healthcare. It targets reductions in infant mortality, expands service scope, and upgrades facilities with renovations, equipment, improved immunization, malaria control, and child survival services. Partnering with the Oyo State Primary Health Care Board (OYOPHCB), the initiative supports 24/7 operations, emergency care, drug revolving funds, and community training through Ward Development Committees for maintenance and feedback.

In Ido Local Government, the project operates at eight facilities: Akinware Health Center, Akufo Health Center, Alada Health Center, Ido Primary Health Center, Ilaju Primary Health Center, Kogue Health Post, Ladunni Health Center, and Omi Adio Health Center. Awards went to top performers in Quarter three 2025 for metrics like deliveries by skilled birth attendants, fully immunized children under one year, IPT3P and Penta 3 vaccinations, fever testing via RDT for under-fives, ACT treatment for confirmed uncomplicated malaria in under-fives, postnatal visits 2-3 days post-delivery, and LLIN distribution to pregnant women.
Omi Adio Health Center emerged as Ido’s best-performing PHC, leading with highest population of immunized children under one, IPT3P, and Penta 3.

Receiving the award from IMPACT Representative Mr. Yemisi Oyediran, Hon. Adeojo praised the IMPACT project in his council and urged expansion to more facilities. He presented the award to Matron Sakirat Ayodele and Ward Development Committee Chairman- Pastor Egbedokun Solomon, hailing Omi Adio as Ido’s top PHC and challenging others to follow suit.

The event included a minute of silence in honour of the late Supervisory Councilor for Health, Hon. Adesina Adegbenga; reviews of strategies for high- and low-performing facilities; and more.

Key officers in attendance include; the Head of Local Government Administration- Alhaji Sarafadeen Aminu, Medical Officer of Health- Dr. Justina Orimoloye, and Mr. Oladosu Vincent- Ido PHC among others.
