The Nigeria Union of Pensioners (NUP), retired primary school Teachers Wing, Oyo State, has received a significant boost to its operations following the donation of a brand-new Toyota Sienna bus by the family of its pioneer Chairman, Comrade Adeboye Michael Olagunju.

The donation, made to the union in Ibadan, commemorates the 20th anniversary of the passing of the union’s founding leader.
Late Comrade Adeboye, revered for his foundational role in advocating for the rights and welfare of retired primary school teachers in Oyo State, left a legacy of selfless service that continues to resonate two decades later.

While congratulating the state Chairman, Comrade Dosu Akinpelu and secretary, Comrade Tunji Ogunwale of the Oyo NUP Teachers Wing during the official presentation of the vehicle, the Chairman of the Local Government Staff Pension Board, Hon. Akeem Ige lauded the family’s generosity, noting that the gift would drastically improve their ability to reach members across the state.

He described the gesture as a rare and commendable act of “living legacy,” proving that the seeds of leadership planted by the late Chairman are still bearing fruit for the benefit of all pensioners.
The leadership of the union posited that Comrade Adeboye lived for the welfare of others during his tenure as their pioneer Chairman.

“This vehicle is a symbol of his family’s commitment to ensuring that the union their late father helped to build has the mobility and resources to continue its vital work for our senior citizens.” They said.
