Senator Yunus Akintunde has commenced a free eye medical treatment and screening programme for constituents of the Oyo Central Senatorial District.

In a statement made available to the media by Kunle Olatunji, Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to the Senator, the initiative is aimed at providing eye care services, medical tests, and immediate treatment for constituents experiencing various eye-related health challenges during the Optical Medical Outreach sponsored and organised by Senator Yunus Akintunde.

The programme will run from Wednesday to Saturday across selected local government areas within the Ibadan Outer City Zone of Oyo Central Senatorial District, including Egbeda, Ona Ara, Oluyole Local Government areas, on Wednesday and Thursday while Lagelu, and Akinyele Local Government Areas will hold on Friday and Saturday.

Qualified eye-care medical professionals will be on ground at designated locations in each local government from 9:00 a.m. daily to attend to beneficiaries with varying degrees of eye conditions throughout the two-day exercise at each Local Government as scheduled.

Speaking on the initiative, Senator Akintunde reaffirmed his commitment to the health and wellbeing of his constituents, noting that the programme aligns with his campaign promises.

The Senator further assured that the eye medical outreach would be extended to other zones within the Oyo Central Senatorial District.

“We will continue to extend this medical care and eye treatment programme to other zones of the Oyo Central Senatorial District,” Akintunde added
