The member representing Ibadan North-East/South-East Federal Constituency, Rep. Abass Adigun (Agboworin), has congratulated the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Kabiyesi Rashidi Ladoja, on his emergence as the Chairman of the Oyo State Council of Obas and Chiefs.

Agboworin, in a statement signed by his Media Group in Ibadan, described the appointment as well-deserved, noting that the Olubadan’s experience, wisdom and royal pedigree would strengthen the council and further enhance the role of traditional institutions in governance and peacebuilding across the state.
The two term lawmaker equally lauded Governor Seyi Makinde for his foresight in institutionalising a rotational chairmanship of the council every two years, describing the policy as a landmark reform that promotes equity, inclusiveness and harmony among traditional rulers in Oyo State.

According to him, the rotational arrangement reflects Governor Makinde’s commitment to fairness and respect for all royal stools, while fostering unity and cooperation among monarchs.

Agboworin, however, prayed for a successful tenure for the Olubadan and reaffirmed his support for policies that strengthen traditional institutions as partners in development, peace and cultural preservation in Oyo State.
