The Ona Ara Youth Summit 2025 has been successfully held, marking a significant milestone in the continuous pursuit of youth empowerment, leadership development, and sustainable community growth in Ona Ara Local Government.
In a statement signed by the Executive Chairman’s Press Secretary, Mr. Rahmon Alawode, the summit that was held in Ilaji Resort yesterday Friday 12th December, 2025 was described as first ever and a purposeful platform that celebrated excellence, dedication, and the resilient spirit of Ona Ara youths, while recognising individuals and organisations whose exceptional contributions continue to drive progress and development across the local government.
Award recipients at the summit included: Oba Kamarudeen Oniladuntan – Ona Ara LG Peace Ambassador; Olaniyi Olumide John – Ona Ara Youth Media Ambassador; Ambassador Kolapo Sodiq (BETO) – Ona Ara LG Sports Ambassador; Oba Obisesan Mudashiru (Alararo) – Ona Ara LG Progress Ambassador; Chief Jubril Dotun Sanusi – Ona Ara LG Growth Guru; Chief Emmanuel Folorunso Ogunnaike (MFR), CEO FOL-HOPE – Ona Ara LG Pioneer of Progress; Alhaji F.A. Azeez – Ona Ara LG Progress Ambassador; Mr. Kayode Oyeleke Samuel (Bliss Farm) – Ona Ara LG Young Entrepreneur of the Year; Alhaji Kola Bolomope and Chief Bayo Oyero – Ona Ara LG Peace and Progress Ambassadors; Oluwabunmi Damilola Ajakaye (Ogo Oluwa Kitchen & Catering) – Young Lady Entrepreneur of the Year; Mrs. Sekinat Afolashade Hammed – Proprietress of the Year; and BN Ballo Charity Organization, led by Dr. Adelani – Humanitarian of the Year.
In his address, the convener and Executive Chairman of Ona Ara Local Government, Dr. Temitope Kolapo, expressed deep appreciation to his leadership role model, the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde. He also acknowledged his business role model and the summit’s resource person, Dr. Abib Olamitoye, who delivered a compelling lecture titled Leadership and Entrepreneurship: Training Ideas into Reality.
Dr. Temitope Kolapo further appreciated his role model in humanitarian service, Okanlomo Oodua and Asiwaju of Ona Ara Local Government, Chief Jubril Dotun Sanusi, for his consistent support, generosity, and commitment to youth development and community advancement.
Special appreciation was extended to dignitaries who honoured the occasion with their presence, including the Vice Chairman of Ona Ara Local Government, Hon. Windapo Oluwole; Hon. Mufutau Ogunremi; Chief Waheed Ajao Adurodekun; and the PDP Oyo State Youth Leader, Hon. Lekan Bello.
The summit also recognised the invaluable contributions of the Ona Ara Local Government management team led by the Head of Local Government Administration (HLGA), Alhaja Ojewumi Mujidat; the Planning Committee chaired by the Supervisory Councillor for Youth, Hon. Jubril Abiola; youth stakeholders; and the entire youth and students’ community whose dedication and cooperation ensured the resounding success of the event.
The Ona Ara Youth Summit 2025 reaffirms a collective resolve to nurture leadership, entrepreneurship, peace, and innovation among the youth, as stakeholders continue to work together towards building a brighter and more prosperous future for Ona Ara Local Government.
