Omituntun Ultra Modern Market in Omi Adio unveiled as Governor Makinde Commissions the project

The newly constructed OMITUNTUN ULTRA MODERN Market in Omi Adio, executed by the Executive Chairman of Ido Local Government,Hon. Sheriff Aderemi Adeojo has been commissioned by Oyo State Governor, His Excellency Engr Seyi Makinde.

Governor Seyi Makinde who was represented by his deputy, His Excellency Barrister Abdul- Raheem Adebayo Lawal commissioned the OMITUNTUN ULTRA MODERN Market in the presence of His Imperial Majesty Oba Rashidi Adewolu Akanmu Ladoja, Arusa I, the Olubadan of Ibadan Land, Chief Niyi Akintola, Ido Traditional Council, Religious leaders, Community leaders, Ido local government market men and women associations among others.

Barrister Abdul-Raheem Adebayo Lawal described the commissioning as an epoch making occasion and a crucial milestone in the state quest for economic prosperity, structured commerce and sustainable development initiatives. He further appreciated Omi- Adio and Ido local government residents for their cooperation throughout the construction period while he urged the beneficiaries to make good use of the facility.

In his welcome address, the Executive Chairman of Ido Local Government Hon. Sheriff Aderemi Adeojo, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the Executive Governor of Oyo State, His Excellency Engr.Seyi Makinde for his leadership and commitment to fulfilling his promises as evidenced by the project’s approval. “During the commissioning of 10km Omi Adio – Ido junction road in December,2023, our visionary leader promised to relocate Omi Adio market by the road side to a better location and he directed my administration to embarked on the process and he gave us all the support we need to achieved it, now we will move Omi Adio market from road side to OMITUNTUN ULTRA MODERN Market which have 406locked shops in Block A to Block H and 56 open stalls ” the chairman stated.

In order to reap the full benefits of democracy in Oyo State, Hon. Sheriff Adeojo urged residents to continue to support Governor Seyi Makinde leadership and vision towards prosperity, development, and enjoying the fruits of democratic governance. ” I want to urge you all to continue to give your maximum cooperation and support to Engr. Seyi Makinde leadership and refuse to be manipulated or cajoled by some deceitful politicians comes 2027″ Hon. Sheriff Adeojo pleaded.

Speaking at the event, the Olubadan of Ibadan Land, His Imperial Majesty Oba Senator Rashidi Adewolu Akanmu Ladoja Arusa I commended Hon. Sheriff Adeojo for bringing this outstanding project to life. “You are a true son of the soil, keep soaring and making us proud dear” – the Olubadan of Ibadan Land.
His Imperial Majesty further charged the citizens and residents of Ibadan Land to cooperate with the state government, Olubadan in Council, local government, community leaders and reputable organisations to unlock the full potential of Ibadan Land. He finally called on well-meaning sons and daughters of Ibadan Land as well as residents to be part of building a brighter future for Ibadan by investing in the City’s growth and development.

In the same vein, Chief Niyi Akintola SAN while delivering his goodwill message, he appreciated the efforts of the executive Governor in bringing and supporting laudable projects in Ido Local Government and he thereby requested for more people’s oriented projects

In their separate remarks, the Onido of Ido, HRH Oba Muritala Babalola; CEO Sydam Concept Nigeria Limited, Engr. Yusuf Olatunde Saheed and the Community Development Council Chairman,Engr. Lawal Tunde Salaudeen they all gave kudos to the Executive Governor and Ido council boss for the successful completion of this people oriented programme which will in long way protect the life and boost the economy of traders and state at large. They thereby advised the beneficiaries to be security conscious and maintain good hygiene to avoid fire outbreak and the likes.
