PDP National Convention:Makinde Visits Lamido in Emergency Reconciliation Efforts

…As Ex-Jigawa governor cites Makinde’s assurances of inclusiveness, declares full support for party convention

…Says Makinde’s commitment to fairness restored confidence in PDP’s internal processes

Former Jigawa State Governor, Alhaji Sule Lamido, has announced the withdrawal of his legal case against the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The development marks a significant step toward easing internal tensions within the party ahead of its scheduled National Convention.

Lamido made the decision after a private meeting with Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde.

He described Governor Makinde as a noble, peace-seeking leader whose intervention played a key role in resolving the dispute.

According to Lamido, Governor Makinde assured him that all stakeholders within the PDP would be fully carried along in the party’s activities and decisions.

This assurance, he said, remained firm regardless of the ruling delivered earlier on Friday by the Federal High Court in Abuja.

The former governor emphasized that inclusiveness was his major concern, and he expressed confidence that Makinde’s commitment would help unify the party.

He noted that the governor’s mediation reflected his long-standing reputation for fairness and consensus-building.

Lamido further explained that his legal challenge was never intended to destabilize the PDP, but rather to ensure transparency and accountability within the party’s internal processes.

He added that with renewed assurances, there was no longer any need for the court action to continue.

By withdrawing the case, Lamido has effectively cleared one of the final obstacles that could have hindered preparations for the PDP’s National Convention. Party members and stakeholders have viewed the move as a positive signal for unity.

He declared his full support for the forthcoming convention, noting that the event now has the opportunity to proceed smoothly and without unnecessary legal distractions.

His endorsement is expected to bolster confidence among loyalists and delegates.

Lamido, however, reiterated his commitment to the growth and stability of the PDP. He expressed optimism that with collective effort and sincere dialogue among party leaders, the PDP would emerge stronger and more united.
