Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) Executive Chairman, Honourable Taiwo Lekan-Salami, on Friday night featured live on Channels Television to discuss the transformation journey of the Ibadan-based club under his leadership. The enlightening session, anchored by Yemi Adebayo delved into the club’s current state, organizational restructuring, management structure, future plans, and growing fan engagement.

Appointed four months ago, Hon. Salami inherited a club that had experienced visible decline both on and off the pitch. Since assuming office, he has introduced a comprehensive restructuring blueprint aimed at reviving the Oluyole Warriors and restoring their competitive edge and administrative efficiency.

According to him, the reorganization cuts across all aspects of the club; including human resources, technical departments, player management, processes, procurement, and overall administration. The goal, he emphasized, is to establish a professional, accountable, and performance-driven football organization.

A major highlight of the restructuring is the introduction of a modern management framework. The club now operates under a dual administrative system where the Chief Operating Officer (COO) oversees all back-office operations such as branding, marketing, ticketing, logistics, and fleet management, while the Sporting Director is responsible for technical affairs including player recruitment, welfare, coaching development, and compliance with regulatory standards.

Hon. Salami further explained that this system ensures specialization, better oversight, and smoother coordination between the business and sporting arms of the club.

LONG-TERM VISION AND STRATEGIC PROJECTS

Looking beyond immediate challenges, the Shooting Stars boss outlined a clear long-term vision anchored on youth development, infrastructure growth, and strategic partnerships.

He revealed that the club is in the process of establishing a youth academy; a vital step toward talent discovery, development, and sustainability. The academy will also serve as a platform for player exchange and sales, ensuring the club’s self-reliance and financial health over time.

In addition, discussions are ongoing with foreign clubs to form developmental partnerships, particularly in the areas of youth training and technical support.

Hon. Salami also disclosed ambitious plans to build a permanent club site equipped with world-class facilities, including hostels, a gymnasium, swimming pool, training pitches, a canteen, and a medical clinic; all designed to give players and staff an enabling environment to thrive.

COMMERCIAL GROWTH AND COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT:

On the commercial front, the Executive Chairman confirmed that 3SC is finalizing a major sponsorship deal with a multinational company operating in Nigeria. The deal, expected to be announced within one or two weeks, is projected to significantly boost the club’s financial stability and visibility.

He also emphasized the importance of fans’ engagement and media visibility, noting that the club is exploring new ways to strengthen its connection with supporters through open communication, digital presence, and community activities.

WOMEN’S FOOTBALL DEVELOPMENT:

In a forward-looking statement, Hon. Salami revealed that Shooting Stars is considering the establishment of a female football team to compete in the Nigeria Women’s Football League in the coming years. This, he said, aligns with the global trend of inclusivity and the growing prominence of women’s football.

CONCLUSION:

His administration’s commitment to professionalism, infrastructural development, and youth empowerment signals a promising era for the Oluyole Warriors and their passionate supporters.
