As anticipation builds for Davido’s 5ive Tour concert in Ibadan, organizers have confirmed that over 2,000 security personnel will be deployed to ensure the safety of attendees and prevent any incidents of stampede, theft, or violence.
In addition to the Nigeria Police Force, the security arrangement includes operatives from the Department of State Services (DSS), Nigerian Army, Amotekun Corps, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Man O’ War, and private security outfits.
The concert, set to take place at a major venue in the city, is expected to attract thousands of fans from across the region. Organizers say the massive security presence is necessary due to the large turnout and past incidents at crowded entertainment events.
A member of the event’s planning team stated, “Security is our top priority. We’re not taking chances with the lives of fans or the safety of the artists. Every possible security risk is being addressed.”
The Oyo State Police Command has also assured the public of a peaceful event, urging attendees to cooperate with security personnel and report any suspicious activities.
The 5ive Tour, headlined by award-winning Afrobeat star Davido, is one of the biggest musical events lined up in Ibadan for 2025.
