COMMUNIQUE ISSUED AT THE END OF THE MEETING OF OYO STATE PDP YOUTH LEADERS HELD ON THURSDAY, 30TH OCTOBER 2025, AT THE PDP STATE SECRETARIAT, MOLETE, IBADAN
The meeting of the Youth Leaders of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Oyo State Chapter, was convened under the leadership of the State Youth Leader, Comr. Lekan Bello, with the attendance of the 33 Local Government Youth Leaders and the three Senatorial Youth Leaders.
The meeting deliberated extensively on matters affecting the youth wing of the party, ongoing developmental programmes, and strategies to further strengthen the PDP across all local government areas in Oyo State.
Also in attendance were the State Chairman, Hon. Dayo Ogungbenro, the State Deputy Chairman, Alhaji Wasiu Adeleke, and the State Secretary, Hon. Oyelami Oyeyemi Joel, who jointly admonished the youth leaders to remain united, focused, and committed to the progress of the party, while ensuring victory for all PDP candidates in the forthcoming 2027 general elections.
After exhaustive deliberations, the following resolutions were unanimously adopted:
1. Reaffirmation of Loyalty to the Governor and the PDP:
The Youth Leaders unanimously reaffirmed their total loyalty to His Excellency, Engr. Seyi Makinde, Executive Governor of Oyo State, and to the leadership of the PDP. We are poised, determined, and resolute in our commitment to deliver Oyo State to the PDP in the 2027 elections.
In the words of Eleanor Roosevelt, “The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.” We, the youth of Oyo State PDP, believe in the dream of a prosperous Oyo State, and we are committed to making that dream a reality.
2. Expression of Gratitude to Governor Seyi Makinde:
We express our profound gratitude to Governor Seyi Makinde for his visionary leadership and for giving the youth the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to governance. His administration has continued to serve as a beacon of hope and progress.
As management philosopher Peter Drucker once said, “The best way to predict the future is to create it.” We, therefore, align ourselves with this philosophy and are ready to create a brighter and more prosperous future for Oyo State under Governor Makinde’s guidance.
3. Commendation of Governor Makinde’s Achievements:
We commend Governor Makinde for his remarkable achievements in infrastructural development, educational advancement, healthcare improvement, and economic growth across Oyo State. His administration’s visionary policies and people-oriented approach have transformed the state into a model of development and inclusive governance.
4. Vote of Confidence in Governor Seyi Makinde:
We unanimously pass a Vote of Confidence in His Excellency, Engr. Seyi Makinde, acknowledging his outstanding performance, transparent leadership, and unwavering commitment to youth empowerment and participation in governance. The Governor’s dedication to inclusiveness and progress remains an inspiration to all.
5. Commitment to PDP’s Victory in 2027:
We declare our readiness to mobilize massively for all PDP candidates in the 2027 general elections. The Youth Leaders reaffirm their total commitment to ensuring a sweeping victory for the party at all levels. Every member of our youth structure stands ready to work for the continued success of the PDP in Oyo State.
6. Youth Mobilization and Sensitization Drive:
As the heartbeat of the party, the youth of Oyo State PDP commit to intensifying mobilization, sensitization, and grassroots engagement across the 33 local government areas. We will ensure that every citizen is informed about the transformative achievements of Governor Makinde and the PDP-led government. Our goal is to consolidate the trust and confidence of the people ahead of 2027.
7. Resilience and Determination for Progress:
We recognize that challenges are an inevitable part of progress. However, as Nelson Mandela wisely said, “The greatest glory in living lies not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall.
We, the youth of Oyo State PDP, will continue to rise above obstacles, remain steadfast, and work tirelessly to uphold the vision of a united, prosperous, and progressive Oyo State under the leadership of the PDP.
8. Call for Unity and Steadfastness:
We call on all PDP youths across Oyo State to remain united, steadfast, and supportive of the administration of His Excellency, Engr. Seyi Makinde. We encourage continued promotion of the ideals of peace, progress, and unity that define the People’s Democratic Party.
In conclusion, the State Youth Leader,Comr. Lekan Bello, appreciated the 33 Local Government and 3 Senatorial Youth Leaders for their steadfastness, loyalty, and invaluable contributions to the continuous growth and success of the PDP in Oyo State.
