Davido’s 5ive Concert: OYHA Speaker, Rt. Hon. Ogundoyin, Lauds Don Tee-led Committee’s Readiness to Promote Home-grown Talents

The Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin, has commended the Don Tee-led planning committee for its proactive preparation and commitment towards the forthcoming Davido’s 5ive Concert in Ibadan, describing the initiative as a significant platform to showcase and promote home-grown talents across the Pacesetter State.

It could be recalled that the committee on Monday paid a courtesy visit to the king of Boys, Otunba Adeseye Famojuro regarding the upcoming event.

Today, speaking during an engagement with team members of the committee, Rt. Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin expressed delight at the level of coordination, innovation, and inclusivity demonstrated in the committee’s plans.

He noted that the project aligns with the state government’s vision, under the leadership of His Excellency Engr ‘Seyi Makinde, to empower youths through entertainment, tourism, and creative enterprises.

“This initiative goes beyond entertainment. It is about giving our vibrant youths a platform to shine, and I’m impressed by the committee’s dedication through the Oyo State Agency for Youth Development, towards making a leading role in His Excellency, Engr ‘Seyi Makinde’s sustainable development legacy, to make Oyo State a cultural hub once again,” Ogundoyin said.

However, the committee chairman, Mr. Tony Awobode, popularly known as Don Tee, appreciated the Speaker’s continuous support and encouragement, noting that his guidance has been instrumental in driving the team’s motivation.

According to Don Tee, the committee has incorporated key sectors, including entertainment, media, government, and political stakeholders, to ensure the concert reflects the rich cultural and creative diversity of the state.

“One of our priorities is to promote inclusivity. We’ve designed the event to accommodate local artists, dancers, performers, media influencers, and small-scale vendors. Everyone involved represents the true spirit of Oyo,” he said.

He further disclosed that the Liberty Stadium, the concert’s main venue, has been structured to include designated sections for VIPs, VVIPs, and regular attendees, while shuttle services will be provided to ensure smooth transportation for ticket holders.

Rt. Hon. Ogundoyin reaffirmed the Assembly’s support for youth-focused projects that promote innovation and self-reliance, emphasizing that such events help position Oyo State as a progressive hub for entertainment and talent development.

The Davido’s 5ive Concert, expected to attract thousands of fans and stakeholders from across Nigeria, is being organized in partnership with the Oyo State Agency for Youth Development and promises to spotlight the best of Oyo’s creative energy.
