The Blue Baby Support Initiative (BBSI), a Lagos-based non-governmental organization dedicated to providing support and opportunities for underprivileged children, has extended its outreach to Ogbomosho, where it successfully Partner the Ogbomosho Education Summit at the prestigious Great Hall of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH).

The summit held under the distinguished presence of the Soun of Ogbomosho land, His Royal Majesty, Oba Ghandi Afolabi Olaoye, who served as Chief Host was marked by a strong call for improved access to quality education as a pathway to social transformation and community development. The monarch warmly welcomed the BBSI team and expressed appreciation for their selfless efforts in empowering the next generation.

A highlight of the event was the distribution of vital educational materials to schools across Ogbomosho, an initiative aimed at supporting students and easing the burden on parents and teachers. This practical gesture reflected the organization’s long-standing vision of “standing in the gap” for vulnerable children and ensuring that no child is left behind due to financial or social limitations.

Speaking on behalf of the founder, Mrs. Aisha Dania Ogieriakhi, the organization’s Coordinator, Mrs. Omolara Ogunyemi, alongside the team members, reiterated BBSI’s commitment to transforming lives through education. They emphasized that access to learning materials, mentorship and opportunities remain critical in breaking the cycle of poverty and giving children the chance to aspire for brighter futures.

“Education is not just about books; it is about hope, opportunity, and empowerment. Every child deserves the chance to dream big and achieve their full potential. That is the vision of BBSI,” Mrs. Omolara Ogunyemi stated during her address.

Mrs. Omolara Ogunyemi further added that collective responsibility is needed to sustain such efforts, urging stakeholders, government, and well-meaning Nigerians to partner with initiatives like BBSI to expand their reach and deepen their impact.

The Ogbomosho Education Summit drew commendations from participants, teachers, and community leaders who described it as a timely and impactful intervention. Many noted that the initiative’s work aligns with the national vision of strengthening education as a tool for development, particularly in underserved communities.

With its growing reputation as a champion for child-focused initiatives, the Blue Baby Support Initiative continues to set the pace for meaningful interventions that combine compassion, practical support and advocacy. The organization reaffirmed that it will keep working tirelessly to create opportunities and brighter futures for children, not only in Ogbomosho but across Nigeria.
