In a significant move towards urban development, Mrs. Mofoluke Adebiyi, Executive Adviser to the Oyo State Governor and Head of the Oyo State New Towns and Cities Development Authority (OYNTCDA), convened a crucial stakeholders meeting with residents from Oluyole, Ona Ara, Egbeda, Lagelu, Akinyele, and Ido Local Governments.

The gathering focused on the ongoing circular road project and the ambitious plans of Governor Seyi Makinde to utilize the corridor for housing and industrial purposes. Key stakeholders, including HRH Oba Odeniran James Oluyemi (JP), Alakinyele of Akinyele, Chief Julius Itanola, and Chief Oluyemi Olayiwola, among others joined Mrs. Adebiyi in the discussions held recently at the Akinyele Local Government conference room in Moniya, Ibadan.
The meeting served to raise awareness about the establishment of the OYNTCDA and the Ilú Tuntun Central Business District acquisition advocacy, emphasizing the need for community involvement in the development process. Mrs. Adebiyi unveiled plans for new smart satellite towns and mixed-use districts aimed at alleviating congestion in urban areas while unlocking fresh corridors for investment throughout Oyo State. “This is an all-inclusive agenda,” she asserted. “Development should not be confined to state capitals alone. We’re expanding our reach to ensure every community benefits.”

She called upon residents, investors, urban development professionals, and community stakeholders to collaborate in realizing this vision. “We’re building for generations to come. This isn’t just a government project—it’s a shared mission that requires support from the public, private sector, and civil society,” she emphasized.

During the meeting, Akinyele Local Government Chairman, Hon. Akinwole, urged residents to embrace tolerance and support the project, reinforcing the collective responsibility for development. The royal highnesses in attendance expressed their gratitude to His Excellency Engr. Seyi Makinde for this laudable initiative and pledged their unwavering support for the project.
