As Muslims worldwide celebrate the birth of Prophet Muhammad (SAW), Hon. (Dr.) Anthony Adebayo Adepoju, who represents Ibarapa Central and Ibarapa North Federal Constituency, has urged Muslims to use the occasion to pray for peace, unity, stability and the continued success of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
In a statement made available to newsmen in Ibadan, Oyo State capital, on Saturday, through his spokesperson, Hassan Olaoniye, Hon. Adepoju disclosed that Maulud al-Nabi commemorates the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad.
According to him, the life and teachings of Prophet Muhammad were a symbol of hope, peace, perseverance and love, calling on all Muslims to emulate all the sterling qualities possessed by the last prophet in the Holy Quran.
The federal lawmaker also seized the moment to pray for Nigeria, Oyo State and Ibarapa Central and Ibarapa North Federal Constituency, praying to God to grant Nigerian leaders in different capacities the strength and wisdom to lead rightly so that Nigerians may rejoice.
The Deputy Chairman of the House Committee on Federal Character also praised the religious tolerance among people of different religious faiths in Ibarapa Central and Ibarapa North, emphasising that through their collaboration, the federal constituency is positioned for greater opportunities and meaningful development.
