Ibadan South West Local Government Council Boss, Akande, Conducts Test for Students to Select “A Day Chairman”

In a bid to promote academic excellence and leadership skills among students, the Ibadan South West Local Government Council, led by Honourable Kehinde Akande, has set another standard to select an outstanding student to serve as “A Day Chairman” for the second year.

The selection process, which took place on Monday, 1st and ended on Wednesday 3rd of September 2025, with over 600 students involved a rigorous test designed to assess the their knowledge, critical thinking, and leadership abilities.

According to a statement released by the local government, the student with the highest score in the test will be honoured with the position of “A Day Chairman”, giving such student the opportunity to oversee the activities of the local government for a day. This unique experience aims to instill leadership skills, confidence, and a sense of responsibility in the selected student.

Honourable Akande emphasized that the initiative is part of the local government’s commitment to promoting academic excellence and empowering the next generation of leaders. He urged the students to take the test seriously and demonstrate their knowledge and skills.

The outcome of the test is expected to be announced soon, and the selected student will be honored in a special ceremony.
