The Executive Chairman of Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC), Honourable Taiwo Lekan-Salami, has unveiled ambitious plans to extend the ongoing restructuring of the club to include its supporters’ groups, as part of a broader vision to reposition the Ibadan-based side for continental glory.

Since his appointment, Honourable Taiwo Lekan-Salami has enjoyed the full backing of Oyo State Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde, and wasted no time in meeting with the club’s supporters’ group to share his vision and strategic roadmap.

The meeting with the state governor, Engineer Seyi Abiodun Makinde, which took place last week, emphasized unity, professionalism, and renewed commitment. The Chairman assured the supporters that their role in the growth and success of the club remains vital, vowing to uplift their structure and welfare as the team prepares for a critical Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) 2025/26 campaign.

In a show of synergy between state leadership and club management, Honourable Lekan-Salami had earlier met with Governor Makinde to formally introduce the newly appointed technical and administrative team, which includes Head Coach Nurudeen Aweroro, Chief Operating Officer Mr. Bunmi Fadayomi, and Sporting Director Mr. Tobi Adepoju.

A key part of the chairman’s restructuring strategy is to revamp the club’s logistics framework. He announced plans to refurbish abandoned and partially damaged team buses, which will be allocated for supporters’ use during away fixtures and other engagements. This move, he said, would ease transportation challenges and foster greater inclusion for the supporters.

With the new season kicking off on August 22nd, Shooting Stars will begin their campaign with a home fixture against Bayelsa United. But the players and officials will ride in style and comfort, as Governor Seyi Makinde has pledged a brand-new Toyota Coaster bus, further underlining his administration’s commitment to the club’s growth.

In a cultural twist to the restructuring, the Chairman also revealed plans to rebrand the supporters’ club attire with custom-made “Adire” outfits—a traditional Yoruba textile—featuring Shooting Stars’ logo and colours. This unique initiative, according to him, is aimed at celebrating tradition while creating a unified identity on matchdays and official functions.

“We want to make Shooting Stars not just a football club, but a cultural institution,” said Honourable Lekan-Salami. “This is about pride, professionalism, and progress.”

As optimism grows around Taiwo Lekan-Salami’s leadership, fans and stakeholders are hopeful the revitalization will return the Oluyole Warriors to the summit of Nigerian football—and beyond.
