2024 Wolekanle Inter Local Government Soccer Competition for Primary School kicked off in Ogbomoso High School
It was football Fiesta as Wolekanle Inter Local Government Soccer Competition kicked off between Ogbomoso North and Orire LG.
The football competition which is staged annually was kicked off by the Director of Sports and General Manager Ogbomoso United Hon Shittu Adegoke Ismael Ismo alongside Adetunji Stephen The Media Manager Ogbomoso United/Wolekanle Sports Organisation who represented the Donor Hon Akinwale Solomon Akinwole Wolekanle.
In the first match of the day Orire LG defeated Ogbomoso North the defending champion 5-3 via penalty shootout after a 1-1 draw at the end of regulation time.
The second match saw Surulere LG defeat Ogbomoso South by a lone goal.
Hon Shittu Adegoke while speaking on behalf of The Donor Appreciated the Primary schools teachers for their time in nurturing future Oshimen, Okocha, Ronaldo, Messi… from their younger age. He encouraged the pupils to put in their best as the sky is just the starting point.
Napgast in their response appreciated Hon Wolekanle for identifying with the pupils and for his efforts in discovering raw talents from grassroot.
Others at the Events are Local Government Secretaries from all 5 Local Governments, sports Officials, Journalists,teachers and pupils from all the 5 Local Governments
