As part of ongoing efforts to consolidate internal unity and grassroots mobilization, the leadership of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo State today held a strategic engagement with party stakeholders from Ido Local Government at the State Party Secretariat, Molete, Ibadan.

The meeting was chaired by the State Chairman of the party, Hon. Dayo Ogungbenro, who led members of the State Executive Committee in facilitating dialogue and collaboration with party leaders from Ido.

In his opening address, Hon. Ogungbenro emphasized the importance of unity, discipline, and teamwork in advancing the PDP’s goals in the local government and across the state. He charged all members to prioritize the collective interest of the party, shun divisive tendencies, and work together for the continued success of the PDP, especially at the grassroots level.

“Our strength lies in our unity and loyalty to the ideals of the party. Ido is strategic to our overall success, and we must consolidate our base there by promoting peace and inclusiveness,” he stated.

Representing the State Party Executive at the meeting were the State Secretary, Alhaji Wasiu Adeleke; Acting Publicity Secretary and State Youth Leader, Hon. Michael Ogunsina; Financial Secretary, Hon. Oludayo Opatokun; Legal Adviser, Barr. Waheed Gbadegesin; Assistant Organizing Secretary, Pastor Biodun Popoola; and State Ex-Officio, Hon. Kunmi Adesina.

Leaders and stakeholders from Ido Local Government present included Baba Muili Yusuf, Hon. Rasak Adekunle Mabaje, Hon. Sheriff Adeojo, Hon. Ayuba Akinsola, Hon. Fasina Olayemi, Hon. Bashir Adesiyan, Commodore Babalola Rasaki (Rtd.), Alhaji Kamoru Aderibigbe, Hon. Matthew Akano, and Hon. Adelabu Aderemi Alaba.

Deliberations at the meeting focused on strengthening party structures in Ido, resolving internal grievances, and ensuring better coordination among stakeholders. The leadership also reiterated the importance of regular ward and local government meetings to foster engagement and transparency.

The meeting concluded with a renewed collective resolve to reposition the party for greater electoral success in Ido and reaffirmed total support for Governor Seyi Makinde’s administration.
