The Executive Chairman of Ibadan North Local Government, Hon. Oluwaseun Olufade, has joined numerous well-wishers across the country to congratulate the Governor of Oyo State, His Excellency Engr. Seyi Makinde, and his amiable wife, Engr. Mrs. Tamunominini Olufunke Makinde, on their recent installation as the Aare Omoluabi and Yeye Aare Omoluabi of Akure Kingdom by His Royal Majesty, Oba Aladetoyinbo Ogunlade Aladelusi, the Deji of Akure.

In a statement released through his Head of Media, Aderibigbe Yisahu, on Friday, Hon. Olufade described the honour as a “remarkable and well-deserved recognition” of Governor Makinde’s enduring legacy of service, leadership excellence, and deep-rooted Omoluabi values.
“Governor Seyi Makinde continues to embody everything the Yoruba nation holds dear — integrity, courage, wisdom, and compassion,” Olufade said.

“This latest chieftaincy title conferred by the revered Deji of Akure is a bold endorsement of his character and a testament to the lives he continues to touch through his people-oriented governance.”

Hon. Olufade, who heads one of the most populous local governments in Oyo State, noted that the Governor’s influence has gone beyond politics and geography, reaching the hearts of traditional institutions and the people across Yorubaland and Nigeria at large.

“His Excellency’s achievements in education, infrastructure, healthcare, and economic development speak volumes.
But beyond projects, it is the governor’s humility, vision, and human-centered leadership that continue to distinguish him,” he added.

He also extended special congratulations to Engr. Mrs. Tamunominini Makinde, the First Lady of Oyo State, on her conferment as Yeye Aare Omoluabi of Akure Kingdom, praising her for her poise, grace, and impactful contributions to the welfare of women, children, and families.
“Her Excellency, the First Lady, has consistently stood as a supportive force behind her husband and a beacon of compassion and strength in her own right.
Her recognition is equally deserved and symbolic of the dignity and value she brings to public service and family life,” he said.
According to the Chairman, the title Aare Omoluabi, which translates to “Champion of Honourable Virtue,” is more than ceremonial.
It reflects a leadership style rooted in cultural values and moral uprightness.
“This title will not only strengthen their resolve to do more for the people but also solidify their place as unifying figures in Yorubaland.
I am proud to serve under such visionary and value-driven leadership,” Hon. Olufade concluded.
