The Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde, has formally submitted the names of nominees for the reconstitution of both the Oyo State Judicial Service Commission and the State Civil Service Commission to the Oyo State House of Assembly for legislative screening and approval.


The letters conveying the nominations were read at the plenary session on Monday by the Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin.
According to Governor Makinde, the nominations are in line with Section 197 of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended), which empowers the Governor to constitute such commissions with the approval of the House of Assembly.

For the Oyo State Judicial Service Commission, the Chief Judge of the state, Hon. Justice Iyabo Yerima, is to serve as the statutory Chairperson.


Other members are Bar. Musibau Adetunbi, Bar. Wahab Adedigba, Chief Joshua Abioye and Mrs. Moyosore Ajani.

In a separate letter, Governor Makinde also sought the House’s approval for the appointment of the following individuals into the Oyo State Civil Service Commission
They are, Alhaji Aderibigbe Kamoru Abiodun – Chairman, Alhaji Kolajo Isiaq Adewale – Full-Time Commissioner, Mr. Olutoyin Adedeji Akanmu – Full-Time Commissioner, Pastor Taiwo Oluwagbemiro A. – Part-Time Commissioner and Mr. Oladimeji Oladapo – Part-Time Commissioner

The Governor expressed confidence in the capacity and integrity of the nominees, urging the Assembly to give the list its usual expeditious consideration.
“The reconstitution of these important commissions is vital for ensuring the smooth and effective administration of justice and public service delivery in our dear state,” the letter stated.
The Speaker, Rt. Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin assured that the screening process would commence promptly and be conducted in line with legislative procedures.
