Ibarapa North Council Chair, Hon Lateef Akorede Hosts PDP Elders Forum, Oyo lawmaker Hon Peter Ojedokun Calls for Unity to Safeguard Party’s Future

The Executive Chairman of Ibarapa North, Alhaji Hon. Lateef Akorede, hosted Ibarapa North PDP elders Forum,

including Hon. Peter Ojedokun, representing the Ibarapa North/Central State Constituency in the Oyo State House of Assembly, and Ibarapa North party chairman, Olayiwola Mathew Ojoogun, at a meeting held at the Council Secretariat in Ayete on Saturday to strengthen unity in the party’s Ibarapa North chapter.

At the meeting, party chieftains emphasized the need for forgiveness and unity within the PDP to brighten the party’s fortune.

Hon. Aborode, who spoke at the meeting, urged PDP elders to do everything humanly possible to ensure that the PDP does not go into the dustbin of history in 2027.

“God forbid this should happen to our party,” he said. “So, this is the time for all elders and members of PDP to be concerned about the future of our great party. We should not allow the collective unity of this party to be fragmented.”

Hon. Funmilayo Orisadeyi said unity within the party chapter and cooperation among members were key to future electoral victories in Ibarapa North and the state.

“We should bury our individual ambitions now and not allow the PDP to crumble,” she added. “We have no choice but to put our house in order.

We are brothers and sisters, so we should put on our thinking caps to achieve a collective goal.”

Hon. Lateef Adebare commended party elders and said the meeting would chart a roadmap for a stronger and more cohesive PDP in Ibarapa North.

He urged all PDP elders to set aside their differences and work for the good of the party, commending them for attending the meeting, which demonstrated their commitment to the party’s future.

The Ibarapa North PDP elders stated, “We stand firmly with Oyo State Governor Engineer Oluseyi Abiodun Makinde,” describing him as a man of few words, humble, respectful, and willing to make sacrifices. “Our support for him is undeniable,” they said.
