…Strategic roads to divert traffic from city center, attract investment, drive economic growth

The Oyo State Government Advisory Council has commended the ongoing construction of the Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja Circular Road, describing the project as a major economic stimulus that will significantly boost the state’s economic development.
The council emphasized that the road will also help ease traffic congestion in the Ibadan metropolis.

Chairman of the Advisory Council, Chief Bolaji Ayorinde (SAN), made this known during an on-the-spot inspection of the construction site, accompanied by other members of the council.

He lauded the quality and scale of work being carried out and expressed confidence in the project’s long-term impact on the state.

Speaking to Journalist at the site, Ayorinde described the Circular Road as a legacy project that has evolved through successive administrations.
He noted that its completion would not only enhance infrastructure but also lay the foundation for the emergence of a new urban center in Ibadan.

According to him, the strategic location of the road would enable travelers and motorists to bypass the densely populated city center, thereby reducing travel time and easing the pressure on existing inner-city roads. “Those who have no business in Ibadan would no longer need to pass through the city,” he said.
Ayorinde further highlighted the broader implications of the project, noting that it could attract investment and open up new residential and commercial areas.
He stressed that infrastructure of this scale is key to unlocking the full economic potential of the state.
He also called on residents of Oyo State to take ownership of the project by supporting government efforts to maintain the road once completed.
“The government has done its part by delivering a motorable super-highway. It is now the people’s responsibility to protect and preserve it,” he added.
The Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja Circular Road is one of the flagship infrastructural projects under the current administration, envisioned to serve as a major transit route and a catalyst for sustainable urban expansion in Ibadan and surrounding areas.
