Hon. Saminu Riliwan Gbadamosi, JP, also known as Wale Canada, a distinguished member of the Oyo State House of Assembly representing Atisbo/Saki-East State Constituency, recently hosted the leadership of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) from Atisbo, Saki-East, and Saki-West Local Government Areas (LGAs).
The events took place in three key locations: at Hon. Gbadamosi’s residence in Sepeteri for Saki-East LGA, at the Atisbo LGA Secretariat in Tede for Atisbo LGA, and in Saki-West LGA. These gatherings brought together significant party leaders, including women leaders, ward chairmen, and other important members from the regions.
During the events, Hon. Gbadamosi, who also serves as the Chairman of the House Committee on Health, emphasized the importance of unity within the party. He reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring that party members benefit from the tangible dividends of democracy. To this end, he distributed financial support to local government executives, stakeholders, women leaders, ward chairmen, and party members across the three LGAs. He also stressed that this year’s contributions would surpass those of the previous year, underlining his ongoing commitment to supporting the welfare of party members. “This is not the first time I am taking such steps, and I promise to continue working for the welfare of all members,” he assured attendees.
A major highlight of the event was Hon. Gbadamosi’s announcement of 450 free JAMB forms to be distributed across the 32 wards in Atisbo, Saki-East, and Saki-West LGAs. Ten forms were allocated to each ward in Atisbo and Saki-East, while 100 forms were set aside for Saki-West. This initiative is part of his efforts to improve access to education for the youth in the constituencies.
Hon. Gbadamosi also took the opportunity to showcase his past achievements, including the installation of solar power systems in Ofiki, the construction of motorized boreholes, and the facilitation of new classroom blocks in various schools. Notably, he highlighted three newly renovated classroom blocks at Obalufon Grammar School in Sepeteri, La Primary School in Ofiki, Muslim Grammar School in Sepeteri, and Oje Owode Grammar School in Oje. Additionally, four more motorized boreholes will be constructed in both Atisbo and Saki-East, further benefitting local communities.
The lawmaker also shared that over 150 youths from his constituency have secured employment in the education and health sectors, with plans for more job opportunities in the pipeline.
The events were graced by several dignitaries, including the PDP chairmen from Atisbo, Saki-East, and Saki-West LGAs: Alh. Mudasir (Saki-East), Alh. Fatai (Atisbo), and for Saki-West, in attendance were Alh. Bashir Shittu Kekere, former party chairman, and Hon. Coach Kenny, former vice chairman of Saki-West Local Government. Other notable figures included Alh. Yusuf Lani, JP Ayinla, former party chairman of Saki-East, Hon. Prince Kabir Agboola, and Hon. Wahab Adebayo, both former Saki-East LGA Chairmen, Mr. Ademola Typhist, and Alh. Sherifat Oje, among others.
