A non-governmental organisation focused on humanitarian support, Olusegun Okanlawon Foundation (OOF) is set to organise the maiden edition of her mathematics competition for secondary schools in the Ibarapa zone of Oyo state.
The mathematics competition organized by SpyGist Media in partnership with Olusegun Okanlawon Foundation comes up on Saturday, December 7, 2024 at the Oyo State College of Agriculture and Technology, Igboora.
According to the program director of the online media organisation, Mrs. Adedokun Victoria Adewumi, said the winners who emerged would be awarded cash prizes, while all the participants will be awarded certificate of participations, other consolation prizes to encourage problem solving skills and critical thinking among school children.
Adedokun stated that the competition is open to senior secondary school students and each school will present a candidate to represent them.
“The students are expected to write an examination scheduled for December 7, 2024.
“Certificate of participation shall be presented to all the participants and cash prizes will be given to the best three,” she said.
The program director added that consultations has been made to the ministry of education in the state for the success of the competition adding that the purpose of the competition is to encourage problem solving skills and critical thinking among school children.
