The Executive Chairman of the Ibadan South West Local Government, Honourable Akande along with Mrs Udoh inspected the ongoing construction of a vocational centre in Akuro community.
The vocational centre, aimed at empowering youths and promoting skill acquisition, is part of the local government’s efforts to enhance human capital development and reduce unemployment.
During the inspection, Honourable Akande expressed his mind with the progress of the project, charge the contractor to deliver good work that will have reality of time, emphasizing the importance of vocational training in equipping youths with marketable skills.
“This vocational centre will provide our youths with the opportunity to acquire skills in various trades, thereby enhancing their employability and contributing to the economic growth of our community,” he said.
The chairman also charged the contractor to adhering to the project’s timeline and quality standards.
Residents of Akuro community have welcomed the project, praising the local government for its commitment to youth development.
“We are grateful for this initiative,” said Mr Alaba Adekanmbi a community leader. “Our youths will greatly benefit from this vocational centre, and it will help reduce unemployment in our community.”
Honourable Akande assured that the local government will continue to prioritize projects that promote human capital development and economic growth.
“We are committed to providing our people with opportunities for skill acquisition and empowerment,” he said.
