The Executive chairman of Ido local government Hon Sheriff Aderemi Adeojo has commissioned a motorized borehole sunk for the people of Goronjo in ward five of the local government.
Ido council chairman while commissioning the borehole for the inhabitants of Goronjo and the suburbs villages said the borehole is part of the projects lined up to mark his 100 days in office for the second term.
“This borehole was sunk to cushion the effects of water scarcity in Goronjo and to curb the spread of waterborne diseases in fulfillment of my electioneering promises and to mark 100 days in office.”
In addition to the borehole sunk, Hon. Sheriff Adeojo gave the people of the community a generator with which to pump water into GP tanks provided for the purpose.
Hon. Adeojo advised the people of the community to set up a committee to see to the maintenance of the borehole and guide against vandalism.
While thanking Hon. Sheriff Adeojo-led administration in Ido local government, Alhaji Saheed Jimoh, and Wahab Goronjo in their appreciation message on behalf of the community said the nonavailability of drinkable water has given members of the community untold hardship in the past and the chairman and his team may not know how appreciative and joyous the members of the community have been since the completion of the project.
In his own remarks, the councilor representing Ward Five, Hon. Oladokun Wasiu Asekunlowo said the chairman has done him proud with the sinking of the borehole in his ward, he said further that members of the village are praying for the chairman day and night because of his magnanimity to the people of Goronjo and adjourning villages.
