Member representing Ibadan South East/North East federal constituency in the House of Representatives, Rep. Abass Adigun, popularly known as Agboworin, has facilitated the installation of four solar-powered boreholes for his constituents.

The boreholes were sunk in strategic areas in the constituency to cushion the effects of water scarcity in the area thereby making life more meaningful for them.

The three areas covered in the Ibadan South East of the constituency were Alege Modina in Ward 6; Tafa Adeoye in Ward 7 and Bashorun Oyelakin Community, Sanyo, in Ward 11.

Another one was installed in Kosodo Community in Wards 3 of Ibadan North East part of the constituency.

Speaking on the development, the lawmaker stated that the project was done in fulfillment of his electoral promise, assuring that he would continue to do what will make life more meaningful for his constituents.

He said: “The boreholes we are putting in place across communities are part of the promises I made during electioneering campaign and they are one of many projects to be executed in various communities.

“This is not the first time something like this is being done. We have erected in few places before now but this is just an addition, and we will continue to do this to make sure all other communities are captured.”

Agboworin, however, appealed to the people of the communities to ensure the good use of the boreholes and to protect them from being vandalised.

In their reactions, some community leaders and residents, who were interviewed on the importance of the project to their communities, commended the efforts of the lawmaker in terms of consistently reaching out to his constituents, especially in meeting their basic needs.

They noted that they have never regretted voting for the lawmaker to represent them in Abuja as he has always been responsive and addressing their needs promptly.

A middle-aged man identified as Kunle Adeshina, in his words, said: “I am elated at the level of the projects Agboworin has been doing as our representative in Abuja. We are happy with the good progress he is making and this shows that he has our interest at heart.

“Having said that, I want to urge our people here to make good use of the facility he has provided for us so that he can be encouraged to give us more.”

Also speaking, one of the PDP chieftains in the Community, said: “This is a laudable achievement in our community and I am confident that more of these will come in due time because I know Agboworin will always fulfill his promise.”

“I appreciate the lawmaker for bringing dividends of democracy to his people at the grassroots and I wish him more prospects in his leadership stride,’’ said another resident.

Mr Jamiu Adesina, one of the residents said: ‘’I have not seen anything like this in my life: for a lawmaker to sink multiple boreholes in various communities, is very rare. We need to appreciate him so that he can do more.”
