Oyo State Government, under the leadership of the Executive Governor Of Oyo State, Engr Seyi Makinde has officially begin the overhaul of the Eleta-Ile-Lekan – Academy – Owode – Olorunkemi Road. This critical road project, which has been neglected for over 21 years, marks a major step forward in the state’s development efforts.
It was emphasized the importance of the Eleta-Ile-Lekan-Academy-Owode-Olorunkemi Road in connecting key commercial and residential areas within the many local government areas like Ibadan South East, Oluyole and other Ibadan Urban areas. The road has been a source of concern for commuters and businesses due to its deteriorated condition, which has hindered economic activities and caused daily hardship for residents.
The Chairman, Integrity youth group in Ibadan South East local Government highlighted that the rehabilitation of this vital road is long overdue, and the administration of Governor Seyi Makinde is committed to ensuring that it meets modern standards.
The project, which involves a complete overhaul, will include resurfacing, drainage improvement, and the installation of solar street lights to enhance safety and durability.
“This project is not just about fixing a road; it’s about improving lives, boosting our economy, and making Oyo State a better place to live and do business.”
The Eleta-Ile-Lekan-Academy-Owode- Olorunkemi Road connects some of the most densely residents populated and areas in the State. The road’s overhaul is expected to reduce movement time, lower vehicle operating costs, and attract more businesses to the area, thereby contributing to the overall economic growth of the state.
