In a significant political visit ahead of the 2027 elections, the Oyo State gubernatorial candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), Hon. Abimbola Adekanmbi, today paid a courtesy visit to the Chairman of the Local Government Staff Pension Board, Hon. Akeem Ademola Ige, at the State Secretariat in Ibadan.

The visit was aimed at congratulating the chairman and his management team on their second anniversary in office. Hon. Ige was appointed as the Chairman of the board by Governor Seyi Makinde on May 15, 2024.
During the visit, Adekanmbi commended the chairman’s achievements over the past two years, particularly regarding pensioner welfare.

He also lauded Governor Makinde for clearing the backlog of unpaid gratuities inherited from the previous administration.

Addressing the board’s staff, Adekanmbi assured them that his administration would uphold Governor Makinde’s high standards (Omituntun 1.0 and 2.0) by transitioning into a “3.0 administration” if elected in 2027.

Welcoming the APM candidate, Hon. Ige praised Governor Makinde’s foresight in identifying Adekanmbi as a worthy successor, alongside his running mate, Hon. Open Salawu.

Ige described Adekanmbi as an Ibadan native deeply committed to the progress of Oyo State and dedicated to governance done right.
“He is a man who wants Oyo State to progress and has a keen interest in how to get things done the right way,” Ige stated.

Hon. Ige, alongside top board officials including Permanent Secretary TPL Akinwale Olufemi, Acting HLGA Alh. Musibau Ladele, Director of Finance Mrs. Temitayo Adeyemo, Director of Budget Kehinde Oluwole, Auditor Alhaji Raifu Najimdeen, and Director of Education and Social Services Mrs. Olabanke Adeyemo—warmly received the gubernatorial hopeful.
