The Allied Peoples’ Movement (APM) candidate for Ido/Ibarapa East Federal Constituency, Engr. Kolawole Sheu Adedeji (KSA), has intensified grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections with a community-to-community campaign tour across parts of Ido Local Government Area of Oyo State.
The tour covered Ward 4 and Ward 9, including Aba Inuewe, Arasan Bako, Lade Abanla and Eleso communities, where KSA and other party stakeholders engaged residents on community development, infrastructure, youth participation and effective political representation.
The campaign attracted APM candidates, party leaders, ward and local government executives, traditional and community leaders, religious representatives, landlords, youths and other stakeholders. The engagements provided an opportunity for residents to express their concerns and communicate their developmental priorities ahead of the 2027 elections.
Eleso Community Highlights Electricity Needs

One of the major issues raised during the visit to Eleso was the need for improved electricity supply. The community’s chairman, Chief Adeola Isaac Olufemi Abe, pledged support for the provision of a transformer to address the community’s electricity needs.
The discussion highlighted the importance of reliable electricity to households, small-scale businesses and other economic activities within the community.
Other community leaders and stakeholders who participated in the engagement included the Baale of Eleso Community, Pastor Adesokan Samson; Chief Olubi Coker; Chief Akindele; Chief Balogun Oshibajo; Imam Eniafe Lamo; Gbolagade Raimi; Mr. Muhammad; Mr. Mukaila; and Mrs. Olukitibi, alongside landlords, residents and other representatives.
The meeting enabled community members to highlight their challenges and discuss possible interventions to improve living conditions.
KSA Engages Youths in Aba Inuewe
The campaign tour also featured an interactive session in Aba Inuewe Community, Bako, where a youth representative raised issues relating to political representation, community development and the expectations of young people from elected officials.
The engagement provided an opportunity for young residents to express their views on the future of their community and emphasise the importance of having their concerns reflected in development discussions.
KSA’s community-based campaign approach has focused on direct interactions with residents, creating opportunities for people, particularly youths, to discuss local challenges and the responsibilities of those seeking public office.
The discussions also underscored the importance of community consultations in identifying development priorities and understanding the distinct needs of different communities.
ADC Chieftain Joins APM Mobilisation
The tour also featured the participation of Alhaji Adelakun, who recently defected from the African Democratic Congress (ADC) to the Allied Peoples’ Movement.
Adelakun spoke during KSA’s engagement with the Adeosun/Idi-Orogbo Community Development Association, where discussions centred on political participation, grassroots mobilisation and community development.
His defection comes amid ongoing political activities and mobilisation efforts ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The meeting with members of the community development association also provided a platform for interaction among the APM candidate, party stakeholders and residents on issues affecting their communities.
Focus on Grassroots Engagement Ahead of 2027
The community-to-community tour forms part of KSA’s broader campaign activities across the Ido/Ibarapa East Federal Constituency, with engagements involving traditional rulers, community leaders, youths, landlords, religious representatives and other stakeholders.
By visiting individual communities, the candidate is seeking to hear residents’ concerns, understand local challenges and encourage participation in discussions about the constituency’s development.
Issues raised during the tour included electricity supply, infrastructure, youth participation and the quality of political representation.
As political activities ahead of the 2027 general elections continue, the engagements highlight the role of grassroots consultations in electoral campaigns and provide residents with opportunities to communicate their expectations to candidates seeking elective office.
The visits to Aba Inuewe, Arasan Bako, Lade Abanla and Eleso form part of the APM candidate’s ongoing efforts to engage communities across the constituency ahead of the polls.
