2027: Council of Traditional Worshippers Publicly Declare Full Support For Akeem Olatunji’s Reps Bid In Oluyole

The Council of Traditional Worshippers in Oluyole Federal Constituency, Oyo State, has publicly declared its full support for the House of Representatives bid of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) candidate, Engr. Akeem Olatunji, ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The traditional worshippers, led by Oloye Ifarinu Ifasola, Akoda Awo Oluyole, also endorsed all APM candidates contesting various elective positions, declaring the party their preferred political platform ahead of the elections.

Speaking during what was called strategic endorsement, the traditionalists said their decision was informed by what they described as the support, assistance, and inclusiveness they had received from Olatunji and Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, particularly during challenging periods.

They said the time had come to reciprocate the gestures by giving Olatunji and other APM candidates their “full backing” at the polls.

The traditional worshippers also announced the adoption of the APM as their political party, saying the party’s symbol represented their aspirations for growth, productivity and prosperity.

According to them, the cassava depicted in the APM logo symbolises growth, productivity and a promising future, which they said aligned with their hopes and aspirations for traditional worshippers and the wider society.

They pledged to mobilise their members and supporters across Oluyole to support the APM candidates, particularly Olatunji, whom they described as a politician who had demonstrated genuine concerns for their welfare and visionary leadership for the federal constituency.

In his brief remarks, Olatunji, who is the incumbent Chairman of Oluyole LG, expressed appreciation for the public show of love and support for his political aspiration and all other APM candidates.

Olatunji noted that Governor Makinde, who is the presidential candidate of the APM has raised the bar of governance and leadership far beyond what was previously obtainable in the state.

He added that the governor has mentored him and other young political leaders to see public office as a call to service.

He promised to continue his all inclusive approach to governance and ensure even distribution of opportunities and empowerment to all.

The endorsement was witnessed by leaders and stakeholders of the APM in Oluyole, including the party’s Local Government Chairman, Alhaji Nasiru Hamzat; former Oyo State House of Assembly member representing Oluyole, Hon. Lukman Salawu; former Oluyole Local Government Chairman, Hon. Kehinde Abore; the Head of Local Government Administration (HLGA), Mrs. Oyewale Mosunmola; Director of Education, Mrs. Ajao; and Alhaji Ogunrin.

Also present were ward chairmen, local government executives, party stakeholders, traditional members and other supporters of the party.
