The Oyo State Forum of Local Government Executive Vice Chairmen and political heads has commended the executive governor of Oyo State, His Excellency, Engineer Seyi Makinde, for his recent approval of an ₦80,000 minimum wage for state workers.

In a statement released to the media after their meeting today in Ibadan, the vice chairmen of the 33 local governments in Oyo State highlighted the governor’s responsiveness to the economic needs of the populace, especially the workers.

The Forum Chairman and Political Head of Ibadan West, Hon. Tajudeen Adigun Atuu, was represented by the Vice Chairman of Kajola Local Government, Dr. Robert Adeniji. The vice chairmen praised Governor Makinde for his proactive approach to governance, describing him as a “populist governor” who consistently prioritizes the welfare of both the workers and the citizens of Oyo State.

They noted that this latest move to increase the minimum wage demonstrates his commitment to improving the standard of living and addressing the economic challenges faced by the state’s workforce.

“The approval of the ₦80,000 minimum wage is a testament to Governor Makinde’s dedication to the well-being of Oyo State’s workers,” the statement read.
