The President of the Yoruba Youth Council and Mogaji-Elect of the IFATAYO-ALAWODE Descendants, Aare Alawode Rahmon Akintunde, has extended warm felicitations to Muslims and Christians as the holy month of Ramadan and the Lenten season commence.

In a press statement personally signed by Aare Alawode and made available to newsmen in Ibadan, the Yoruba youth leader described the simultaneous observance of Ramadan and Lent as a profound reminder of the shared values of faith, sacrifice, discipline, love, and compassion that bind Nigerians together beyond religious differences.
Aare Alawode urged adherents of both faiths to use the sacred periods for deep reflection, sincere prayers, and renewed commitment to peaceful coexistence, mutual respect, and unity. He emphasized that the spiritual exercises associated with fasting, prayer, and charity should translate into selfless service to humanity and collective responsibility for societal progress.

According to him, “This unique convergence of Ramadan and Lent offers us an opportunity to reaffirm our common humanity and strengthen the bonds of brotherhood among our people. It is a call to love one another, promote tolerance, and work together for the good of our communities.”

The Yoruba Youth Council President further prayed for divine guidance and wisdom for leaders at all levels, while calling on the youth to embrace positive values and contribute meaningfully to nation-building. He expressed optimism that sustained prayers during the sacred months would bring peace, stability, and accelerated development to Ibadanland, Oyo State, Yorubaland, and Nigeria at large.
Aare Alawode concluded by wishing Muslims a spiritually rewarding Ramadan and Christians a reflective and fruitful Lenten season, while encouraging all Nigerians to remain hopeful and united in the pursuit of a better nation.
