Parents of students at Igando Senior Grammar School in Alimosho Local Government Area have voiced their frustration over the severe lack of infrastructure at the school, with no chairs available for incoming Senior Secondary 1 (SS1) students. The lack of seating has made it challenging for students to learn, leaving parents outraged that, despite paying taxes, their children face such inadequate conditions.
Speaking to Lagos Reporters, concerned parents described the learning environment as “unacceptable” and called on the Lagos State government to address the issue immediately. Many expressed that the school’s current state is unfit for productive learning, highlighting a need for basic furniture and a more conducive educational environment.
“We are paying taxes, yet our children come to school only to sit on the floor or stand during lessons,” one parent said, emphasizing the urgency of their call. The parents urged the state government to provide quality chairs and prioritize essential upgrades to create a supportive learning space for all students.
With the new academic session underway, parents are hoping for a swift response to resolve the dire situation at Igando Senior Grammar School.
