Hopecrest College in Igboora, has emerged as the winner of the Olusegun Okanlawon Mathematics Competition organised by SpyGist Media.
Thirty two schools participated in the maiden edition of the Olusegun Okanlawon Mathematics Competition held on Saturday, 7th December 2024, at the Oyo State College of Agriculture and Technology, Igboora
Amoo Ibrahim, a student of Hopecrest College in Igboora emerged the overall winner at the end of the Mathematics Competition, while Olagbenro Tosin from Royal Diadem, Igangan, was the first runner up and Adeniyi Joseph, who represented Police Academy, Igboora was the second runner up.
The winner of the competition will receive N150,000, while the first runner-up will get N100,000 and the second runner-up will collect N50,000. The prize presentation will be done at the grand finale of the Olusegun Okanlawon Foundation (OOF) program coming up on the 28th December, 2024.
Adedokun Sunday Harshasha, Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to Engr. (Dr) David Olusegun Okanlawon, while addressing the participants at the end of the competition, congratulated the winners for their outstanding performances.
He said the competition is aimed at encouraging academic excellence, fostering love and unity, and providing our students with a platform to intensify their academic abilities.
He added, “this competition is a significant step that we have set in place to motivate students in their academics and to create a competitive environment where they can develop their rational skills. The competition will equally encourage love and unity amongst our people.”
