Wild Jubilation as Oyo majority leader gifts NUT N1.5m for roofing of Secretariat in Ogbomoso South

Nigeria Union of Teachers in Ogbomoso South Local Government have showered encomiums on the majority leader of Oyo State House Assembly, Hon. Sanjo Adedoyin following his giant donation of about one million and five hundred thousands (1,500,000) for the roofing sheet of its ongoing construction of permanent secretariat.

Adedoyin, who currently represents the constituency at the 10th House of Assembly, had on Tuesday made an on spot assessment of the ongoing construction and single handedly sponsored the roofing sheet of the NUT secretariat situated at the Isale High school, Ogbomoso.

The leadership of the NUT expressed gratitude for the donation and commended Adedoyin, who is known as a digital lawmaker for modernising representation.

The NUT Chairman of Ogbomoso South LG, Comrade Adeyemi Oluseyi Temitope, stated in his remarks that after the permanent secretariat is completed, the teachers will have a befitting space for their meetings.

She said: “To the glory of God, we are doing the finally roofing stage of the project. I want to appreciate the efforts of all the teachers in Ogbomoso South both primary and secondary schools for their support, financial support and loyalty they have committed to this project.

“I also specifically appreciate Hon. Sanjo Adedoyin for providing us the roofing sheet of this project. We sincerely appreciate him.”

Comrade Sayo Akano, the chairman of the building project, gave assurances that, when completed, the project will be a graceful and functional structure that adheres to modern architectural pattern.

He also added that everything being put in place will extend the building’s lifespan.

The former chairman of the Oyo State NUT, Com. Prince Toju Adedoyin, however commended the Oyo majority leader for his substantial donation and urged other NUT leaders to ensure that the project is completed as soon as possible.

He said: “We have started this project almost 20 years ago. This project is a symbol for all the teachers in this local government because this is their own secretariat. So, having a project like this today, we are very happy.

“We also sincerely appreciate the majority leader of Oyo state House Assembly, Hon. Sanjo Adedoyin, during his electioneering campaign, he promised that he will do something, and as we have said openly here, he provided almost everything for the roofing because he rolled out about N1.5m from his personal purse.”

In their spectate remarks, other NUT representatives in the state including leaders and sons of Ogbomoso South local government appreciated Hon. Sanjo Adedoyin for his giant donation, describing him as a visionary leader who has contributed immensely to the development of his constituency.
