Widows Laud Ibarapakan’s Social Support Programme as Beneficiaries Hit 2,000

Teeming widows in Ibarapa Central and Ibarapa North Federal Constituency have showered their blessings on Hon. Dr. Anthony Adebayo Adepoju, member representing the constituency for his consistent approach toward the welfare of widows.

The widows expressed this on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, as the lawmaker’s widows’ social support programme hit 2,000 beneficiaries in the last three months.

Speaking at the fourth edition of the social support programme at the Igboora Town Hall on Tuesday, Hajia Abiola-Baderin Shukhrah, Special Adviser on Women Affairs to Hon. Adepoju, said that the lawmaker’s commitment to the welfare of vulnerable women in Ibarapa Central and North has been instrumental to the success of the programme since July this year.

According to her, the number of widows Hon. Adepoju has provided social support to has hit 2,000 after the completion of the fourth round of the programme in Ayete, Tapa and Igangan, the three principal communities in Ibarapa North Local Government Area of Oyo State.

She commended the women in Igboora and Idere for their turnout, promising that Hon. Adepoju would continue to support them through different social support programmes throughout his tenure.

The widows, however, expressed their deep appreciation to the lawmaker for keeping his word on his promise to reach out to widows in the constituency every month. They wished the lawmaker success in all his endeavors as he continues to put smiles on the faces of women in the federal constituency.

Commenting on the success of this month’s social support programme, the Deputy Chairman of the House Committee on Federal Character reiterated that the programme is in line with Omituntun 2.0 agenda of His Excellency, Engr Seyi Makinde for sustainable development in Oyo State.

The federal lawmaker appreciated Gov. Makinde for all his efforts in promoting the welfare of Oyo State residents, as evident in the success of the social support programme in Ibarapa Central and Ibarapa North Federal Constituency.
