Oyo State is in mourning following the passing of Chief Yekini Adeojo, a highly venerated ,respected politician and the Seriki Musulumi of Yorubaland. The news of his demise has sent ripples of shock and sadness across the state.

The Honourable Commissioner for the Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Inclusion in Oyo State, Hon (Mrs) Toyin Balogun, has expressed her heartfelt condolences and sympathy to the family; especially her brothers Hon Sheriff Adeojo; Chairman Ido LG and Hon Elias Adeojo; Chairman Water Corporation,His Excellency Governor Seyi Makinde who is the Chief Mourner and indeed our entire state and party PDP on the loss of an Iconic Leader.
Chief Adeojo was a towering,iconic figure in Oyo State and Nigeria politics, widely acknowledged for his instrumental role in the emergence,growth and development of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) into a formidable force in the Southern Region of the Country in General and Oyo State in particular

His matchless,uncommon discipline was the stuff legends are made of,his political acumen and dedication earned him the respect of colleagues even from opposite sides of the political divide and constituents alike.

Beyond his significant contributions to the political landscape, Chief Adeojo held a revered position both as a respected religious and traditional leader.

His prestigious title of Seriki Musulumi of Yorubaland underscored his influence and right standing within the Islamic community and the broader Yoruba society.
The late Chief Yekeen Adeojo was also the father of prominent figures in Oyo State governance structure viz: Hon Sheriff Adeojo, the Executive Chairman of Ido Local Government, and Hon Elias Adeojo, the Executive Chairman of the Oyo State Water Corporation.
Expressing her deep shock and sadness upon learning of Chief Adeojo’s passing, Hon (Mrs) Toyin Balogun highlighted his insightfulness,discipline and expressions of tough love as a father and elder statesman in Oyo State.
She expressed her appreciation for his unflinching support for Her Principal; Governor Seyi Makinde as Baba was one of the notable leaders who stood up to be counted as a veritable bulwark of support for His Excellency because he saw the altruism,sincerity of purpose which His Excellency brought to bear on governance and the burning passion of our Governor to improve the quality of lives lived by our people
She emphasized the significant void his absence will create in the political,religious and traditional ecosystem of the state
“This is a great loss for Oyo State that we beseech the Almighty to grant us all the fortitude to bear,” stated Commissioner Balogun.
“Chief Adeojo was a man of immense wisdom and a true leader.
His contributions to our state, both politically,religiously and traditionally, are immeasurable.
He was a father figure to many, and his guidance will be sorely missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family during this difficult time.”
We also beseech Allah( SWT) to overlook his shortcomings and grant his soul Aljanat Firdaus
