Water is life. It is essential for people, plants, and animals alike. As the saying goes, “Thousands have lived without love, not one without water.”Truly, water remains one of the most vital needs of every living being, a foundation for good health, food production, and community growth.

For many years, several villages and rural communities in Akinyele Local Government struggled to access clean and safe water. They depended on stagnant or untreated running water, exposing themselves to health risks Sadly, their cries for help went unanswered — until now.
Thanks to the compassionate and visionary leadership of the Distinguished Senator (Dr.) Yunus Akintunde, representing Oyo Central Senatorial District, hope has finally reached these long-neglected communities.Within his short time as a first-term senator at the National Assembly,Senator Akintunde facilitated the installation of solar-powered boreholes across all 11 local governments of Oyo Central including Akinyele.

This monumental project has transformed access to clean water for thousands of residents. It reflects Senator Akintunde’s firm belief that, “Good representation means touching lives where it matters most.”

During visits to the 12 wards and communities in Akinyele where the solar-powered boreholes were installed, the joy among the people was overwhelming. Many expressed deep appreciation and prayers for the senator’s kindness and responsiveness.
One elderly resident said, “Help us thank Senator Yunus Akintunde for this wonderful project. We never thought we would see such boreholes in our villages.”
Another community leader remarked, “He is truly a senator who listens and acts. For years, we cried out for water, and now our children will grow up drinking clean water.
