The leadership of the People’s Democratic Party in Oyo State has called on the security operatives to call the former first lady of Ọyọ State, Mrs Florence Ajimobi for questioning over the statement she made in a video that has now gone viral in which she declared war on the general and gubernatorial election in the State.

The PDP noted the statement credited to Mrs Florence Abiola Ajimobi with grave concerns as one which is capable of fueling the insecurity situation of the State and the country at large. The PDP especially called on President Tinubu to warn Mrs Ajimobi as her statement is unbecoming of a diplomat.

The PDP described the statement credited to Mrs Ajimobi in which she urged the people of the State to prepare for war in 2027 as it is not only absurd, but it is barbaric, illogical and unreasonable. The ruling People’s Democratic Party said calling for war at this time is inhumane especially from someone who watched as her husband ruled the State like a dictator as the governor of Oyo State.

In a statement released by the Assistant State Publicity Secretary of the Party, Mr. Tella Oluyinka said the APC had the same touted resources in 2019 when her husband as the incumbent governor of Oyo State lost his senatorial election and the governorship election a week after. Mr. Tella said Mrs Ajimobi should take her time to do some self-reflection and ask herself why the APC has continued to be rejected by the people of Oyo State for the past eight years. It will be recalled that under the administration of her husband, Senator Isiak Abiola Ajimobi, Oyo State was in the state of shambles as her husband’s government bastardised the state economy: workers owed several month salaries, pensioners owed several years of pensions and gratuity, contractors not paid and poverty was on the rise, with the education sector of the State in a total state of collapse.

The PDP wants to remind Mrs Ajimobi that since the inception of the PDP government, i.e., 2019 under the leadership of Governor Seyi Makinde, Oyo State has experienced unprecedented developments in terms of massive infrastructure, good education policy, security, health and social services. Oyo State citizens have been experiencing peace and tranquillity, economic and political stability. Seyi Makinde-led administration has also put an end to the hardship faced by workers and pensioners which her husband left behind.

We want to let Mrs Ajimobi know that the only war Nigerians and the people of Oyo State will fight is the war against hunger which the APC administration represents with all its anti-human policies which have pushed Nigerians into extreme poverty in the country. The people of Oyo State have rejected the APC in the past and we believe they will do the same thing in 2027 as the APC represents darkness, hunger, starvation and backwardness.

The people of Oyo State who have been experiencing what good governance is after the inglorious rule of Mrs Ajimobi’s husband-led administration should know that she has declared war on their economic stability peace, freedom and prosperity and as such she and her blood-sucking APC supporters should be rejected by all means possible.

We are calling on Oyo state people to continue to support and cooperate with the PDP- led administration under the leadership of Governor Seyi Makinde to bring more dividends of democracy to them.

Signed:
Tella Oluyinka Moses
Oyo State PDP Assistant
Publicity Secretary
