Vice President Shettima, Ministers Meet With Buhari In Daura Amid Hardship, Backlashes

Senator Shettima, who is currently the guest of former President Buhari, also has Minister of Agriculture, Minister of Budget, Senator Rochas Okorocha, and other dignitaries in his entourage.

Nigeria’s Vice President, Kashim Shettima, is in Daura, Katsina State, on a visit to former President, Muhammadu Buhari.

Senator Shettima, who is currently the guest of former President Buhari, also has Minister of Agriculture, Minister of Budget, Senator Rochas Okorocha, and other dignitaries in his entourage.

Governor Dikko Radda was reported to have received the Vice President Senator Kashim Shettima, at the Umaru Musa Yar’Adua Airport in Katsina.

According to reports, the Vice President is currently undertaking a personal visit to meet with former President Buhari in Daura amid the hardship biting the country and attendant protests and backlashes.

Shettima according various reports first visited His Royal Highness, Alhaji (Dr) Umar Faruq Umar, The Emir of Daura. During the visit, VP Shettima commended the traditional ruler for his dedicated efforts in upholding peace, security, and prosperity in the region.

Some pictures shared online showed the Vice President kneeling before the former president during his meeting with him.

Earlier in post on his X (formerly Twitter), Stanley Nkwocha, the spokesperson of the Vice President said that Senator Kashim Shettima has just arrived at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja.

He wrote, “The Vice President, Senator Kashim Shettima has just arrived at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja. He is expected to depart shortly for Katsina State, where he is scheduled to visit former President Muhammadu Buhari in his hometown of Daura.

“The Vice President’s itinerary also includes courtesy calls on the Emirs of Daura and Katsina.”
