Tinubu Jets off to Senegal for Faye’s Inauguration Tuesday

President Bola Tinubu is scheduled to leave Abuja on Tuesday, April 2, 2024, for Dakar, Senegal, where he will be attending the inauguration of Senegal’s President-elect, Bassirou Faye.
This information was revealed in a statement by Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale.

The statement, titled ‘President Tinubu to attend inauguration of Senegal’s President-elect Bassirou Faye,’ disclosed that Tinubu, who also serves as the Chairman of ECOWAS Authority of Heads of State and Government, is traveling to Senegal at the invitation of the Senegalese government. He will be present alongside other regional leaders to witness the inauguration ceremony at the Diamniadio Exhibition Centre on Tuesday.
Accompanying President Tinubu on this trip will be the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yusuf Tuggar, and other high-ranking government officials. Following the inauguration, President Tinubu is expected to return to Nigeria.

This will mark the fifth African country President Tinubu has visited during his tenure, with Senegal being the latest addition to his list of international destinations that include Paris, France; London, UK; Bissau, Guinea-Bissau; Nairobi, Kenya; Porto Novo, Benin Republic; New Delhi, India; Abu Dhabi and Dubai, UAE; New York, USA; Riyadh, Saudi Arabia; Berlin, Germany; Addis Ababa, Ethiopia; and Doha, Qatar.
