At last, good news has reached our community. After years of appeals, letters, and cries from our people, the long wait is over. The long-requested reconstruction of the Kishi–Igboho Road has finally been approved. This announcement has brought renewed hope, relief, and joy to every heart in Kishi and Igboho. Indeed, our voices were heard, our efforts were not in vain, and our hope has been restored.

For many years, that road has represented our struggles, a constant reminder of how neglected our people have felt. Many of us have spoken and written about it, not to criticize, but to make government and leaders see the pain, risk, and hardship our people face daily. It gladdens my heart that our persistence has paid off, and that the approval for the 30km Igboho–Kishi Road reconstruction, as announced by the Honourable Commissioner for Information, Prince Dotun Oyelade, has finally come to life.
This project means more than just a road. It is a sign of renewed confidence in governance and a proof that unity of purpose yields results. To me personally, and to every son and daughter of Oke Ogun, this is not just an announcement; it is a new beginning. Those who misunderstood our calls for progress can now see that our passion was genuine. Like I always say, never let personal pride or politics stand against the progress of your community. True development begins when we all work for the common good.

Our heartfelt appreciation goes to His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde, for listening to the people’s cry and proving once again that his government truly cares. We are not celebrating politics; we are celebrating progress. We now appeal to His Excellency to ensure the contractor is quickly mobilized and work begins in earnest, so that this project will not just be on paper but will soon bring real transformation to our people.

We also appreciate our son, the Deputy Governor of Oyo State, His Excellency Barr Bayo Lawal , for his unrelenting effort, constant prayers, and unwavering concern for the development of Oke Ogun. Sir, please continue to be a shining light for our people — your dedication will always be remembered with gratitude.
Our thanks also go to the Minority Leader of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Salami Ayinde Waliu Aweda (Ganmiyan), for his active representation and strong advocacy for this project. I salute the immense contributions of Prof. Salihu Abdulwaheed Adelabu, the Honourable Commissioner for Establishment and Training, the Chairman of Irepo Local Government, Hon. Tunde Taoheed Olayiwola, and every stakeholder who played a role in making this dream a reality.
The leadership of the Kishi Progressive Union Worldwide (KPUW), under Pharm. Chief Rahamon Bioku Jimoh FPSN FCENT FIMC FNaPharm JP, deserves special appreciation for their consistent engagement and advocacy. They have been the steady bridge between our people and government, ensuring that Kishi’s needs remain on the front burner.

To my fellow youths and colleagues, this is a victory for all of us. Let’s celebrate this progress with unity and maturity. We have asked, and the government has responded. This is how democracy should work; through dialogue, not division. Let us continue to engage our leaders respectfully and constructively, so that together we can achieve more for our land.
To our leaders (sons) in government, please see those who speak out not as enemies, but as partners who share your dream for development. Constructive criticism and honest conversations build stronger communities. Our unity and understanding will take Oke Ogun farther than conflict and pride ever could.
This approval is more than a project. It is a reminder that when the people stand together with one voice, they can move mountains. We eagerly await the commencement of the road reconstruction and hope to see steady progress until completion.
May this mark the beginning of greater attention, development, and opportunities for Kishi, Igboho, and the entire Oke Ogun region. The joy in our hearts today is a reflection of what collective effort can achieve.
We thank everyone who played a part, directly or indirectly, in making this dream come true. Indeed, the long-awaited answer has finally come.
I remain, Popoola Hassan (The Kishi-Man ♥️)
