… As ₦80,000 new minimum wage package to enhance better welfare for the staff – Dr. Fagbemi
The Chairman Oyo State Hospital Management Board, Dr. Akin Fagbemi has embarked on his continuous monitoring and inspection of the state hospital by engaging on night monitoring visit to Adeoyo Maternity Teaching Hospital, Yemetu, Ibadan.
Dr. Fagbemi who visited the hospital on his usual night monitoring to oversee the activities of the staff and personnel of the hospital.
Upon arrival at 9:30 pm, Dr Fagbemi observed inadequate security measures, posing risks to patients and staff.
He met three active security personnel were on duty, the hospital lacks armed personnel like Amotekun to address potential threats from area boys.
The chairman further inspected the casualty department who had only one doctor, Dr. Mayor Adeyemi, a nurse, and a ward orderly on duty, as he assured to address the challenges of inadequate staffing with the current recruitment to the state hospitals.
Dr. Fagbemi promised that His Excellency Engr. Seyi Makinde has promised to solved the challenges of infrastructural deficit in all the state hospitals which applied to Adeoyo Maternity hospital.
He noted his monitoring exercise is highlighted on 12 critical areas requiring attention, including pharmacy staffing, Essential drugs, consumables, others include inadequate lightning, poor ventilation, and lack of intercoms or toll-free lines.
Speaking with newsmen, The chairman Oyo state Hospital Management Board, Dr. Akin Fagbemi emphasized the need for improvement, citing real-time situations observed during the night monitoring saying that addressing these gaps will enhance patient care and staff safety.
The chairman commended the dedicated staff on duty for their exceptional services, particularly in the maternity ward, despite challenging conditions.
He expressed gratitude to His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Oyo state, Engr. Seyi Makinde for his sustainable healthcare delivery to the people of the state which the good of the state have been benefited from.
Dr. Fagbemi charged the people of the state to continue in supporting the current administration in delivering the sustainable healthcare delivery and to enjoy the dividend of democracy.
He encouraged the staff and personnel of Adeoyo Maternity Teaching hospital to be more committed as the new minimum wage will enhance sustainable healthcare delivery in Oyo state.
Dr. Fagbemi further charged the staff and personnel of the hospital to be more dedicated to their duties in delivering sustainable healthcare delivery to the people of the state.
