Speaker Tajudeen Abbas Approves One-Day Rep Suliat Haruna’s Visit to National Assembly

Suliat Adeola Haruna, who emerged as the winner of the One Day House of Representatives contest on Saturday, June 29, 2025, will be received by Hon. Dr. Anthony Adebayo Adepoju in Abuja on Thursday, November 27, 2025.

The One-Day House of Representatives Initiative, now in its second edition, is a visionary competition involving more than 2,700 SS3 students across public and private schools in Ibarapa Central and Ibarapa North Federal Constituency of Oyo State. And it is geared at engaging young minds, fostering future legislators from the federal constituency, inspiring children to succeed regardless of their socio-economic background and incorporating youth-driven initiatives previously overlooked.

The initiative also seeks to improve the standard of education in Ibarapa Central and Ibarapa North, the two local government areas comprising the federal constituency being represented by Hon. Adepoju in the National Assembly.

Recall that the nation witnessed the first of its kind moment when Hon. Peace Oladosu was recognised by Rt Hon. Tajudeen Abass during the plenary session of the House of Representatives on July 23, 2024, having won the same intellectual contest organised by Hon. Adepoju.

However, Suliat and her proud parents will be received by the lawmaker at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, to prepare for her one-day official duty as a member representing Ibarapa Central and Ibarapa North Federal Constituency on Thursday, November 27, 2025.

According to the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt Hon. Tajudeen Abbas, PhD, on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, Suliat will be honoured during the plenary session of the House of Representatives of Thursday, November 27, 2025. Shortly after, Suliat will proceed to Hon. Adepoju’s office to preside over her constituency for one day, while Barr. Lekan Awolusi, Senior Legislative Aide to Hon. Adepoju, will lecture her on the working system of the National Assembly. She will also visit the offices of House of Representatives members and senators in the National Assembly to discuss personal, constituency and national matters.

During her visit to the nation’s capital, Hon. Suliat will also engage with eminent personalities from Ibarapa region in Abuja on Friday, November 28, 2025. Later that day, Hon. Suliat and her proud parents will return to Southwest Nigeria through Nnamdi Azikiwe Airport, Abuja, on Friday, November 28, 2025.
