The Ona Ara local government chapter of the Senior Citizens of Nigeria recently paid a courtesy visit to Governor Seyi Makinde’s aide, Hon. Chief (Dr.) Ezekiel Temitope Oladimeji (OTOPE), Director-General Liaison Office for Abuja and Lagos.
The senior citizens, led by their chairman solicited support from Dr. OTOPE for free periodic medical checkups and medical care. They also requested monthly stipends to alleviate financial burdens.
While addressing the group, Dr. OTOPE welcomed the delegation and assured them that Governor Makinde’s administration prioritizes the welfare of senior citizens citing initiatives like the SAfER package and OYSHIA scheme among others. He promised to consider their requests and facilitate necessary support.
Recall, Governor Seyi Makinde’s administration has demonstrated commitment to supporting vulnerable groups, including senior citizens. The SAfER package and OYSHIA scheme aim to improve healthcare access and economic empowerment.
The Ona-Ara senior citizens expressed gratitude to Dr. OTOPE and Governor Makinde’s administration for their efforts. They pledged to continue supporting the government’s initiatives.
The meeting took place at the OTOPE Foundation office, located at Sheriff Bus-Stop Alawaye, Ona-Ara Local Government, Ibadan, on Sunday 27th October, 2024.
