The Protestant University of Rwanda (PUR) has formally invited Dr. Stephen Akin Fagbemi, LL.B, Chairman of the Oyo State Hospitals Management Board, to serve as a Keynote Speaker at its forthcoming Scientific Week 2025.
The event, organized through the Office of the Vice Chancellor, is scheduled to hold from 12th to 13th December 2025 at the University’s Huye Campus.
This year’s Scientific Week will be convened under the theme: “Generative AI in Education: Rethinking Quality in Teaching, Learning, Assessment, and Research, Policy, Ethics, and Innovation.”
PUR’s annual Scientific Week brings together scholars, policymakers, industry experts, and practitioners from various disciplines to engage in critical discussions on emerging issues shaping the future of education.
The 2025 edition will focus on the rapid advancement of generative Artificial Intelligence technologies such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, and others, examining both their transformative potential and the challenges they pose to educational systems worldwide.
According to the University, Dr. Fagbemi’s distinguished leadership, policy expertise, and commitment to national educational and technological development make him a fitting choice to deliver the keynote address. His participation is expected to provide valuable insights and inspiration to conference participants.
In addition to the keynote invitation, PUR has also appealed for support toward its University Development and Scholarship Fund, emphasizing the importance of partnerships in advancing academic excellence and access to education.
The Vice Chancellor of the Protestant University of Rwanda, Professor Olu Ojedokun, expressed confidence that Dr. Fagbemi’s presence would significantly enrich the academic dialogue and contribute to the success of the event.
