Following the passing of Professor Abiodun Ojo, a member representing Ibarapa Central and Ibarapa North Federal Constituency, Hon. (Dr.) Anthony Adebayo Adepoju, has commiserated with Ojo’s family in Igboora as well as the entire staff of the Adeseun Ogundoyin Polytechnic, Eruwa, an institution of which he was its governing council’s chairman until his death. 

Professor Ojo was pronounced dead in the late hours of Tuesday, April 23, 2024, after a brief illness.

Commiserating with the deceased family, Hon. Adepoju said a huge loss has just befallen Igboora, Ibarapa, Oyo State and Nigeria as a whole. 

According to him, Professor Ojo was not only a renowned academic but also a committed community leader who touched countless lives with every opportunity he had. He said he received the news of his death with a rude shock, noting that the late professor would be missed by everyone, including those in academia. 

“It is regrettable that we are mourning the death of another important figure in our community yet again, death is inevitable but the demise of Professor Ojo is one out of many that has created a big void that will be difficult to fill. My thoughts and prayers are with the Ojo family and every member of our community in this trying time. I pray that God gives the family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss,” Ibarapakan said. 

Reflecting on the impact of Prof. Ojo, Ibarapakan praised the late professor’s contributions to academia and his impact on the community, particularly his role in the growth and development of Adeseun Ogundoyin Polytechnic, Eruwa, and Tai Solarin College of Education, now Tai Solarin University of Education.

The Ibarapa-born lawmaker cum technocrat also condoled with the sons and daughters of Igboora, who are deeply touched by the death of Professor Ojo, including the Oyo State Commissioner for Trade, Investment, Industry and Cooperative, Hon. Ademola Obafemi Ojo, who is the deceased’s brother.
