The Rotary International President 2024-2025 *”Stephanie Urchick”* Enjoined Rotarians and partners to be “The Magic of Rotary”.
We have a hard look at the environmental issues such as deforestation to urbanization which affects health, alter weather patterns, habitats, leading to food insecurity and irreversible damage to entire ecosystem.
This initiative is part of our broader efforts to achieve one of the Rotary area of focus “Supporting the Environment*, such as improving air quality, providing shade, or engaging the community in environmental stewardship.
In view of the above,the Rotary D9126 through her
Committee for support for the environment started with the launching of tree planting in ibadan, Oyo state today.
The event was done by the District Governor,D9126,Rotn Kayode Olowolagba ,in the company of the DGN,Rotn Olaniyi Okin,the DES,Rotn Kazeem Oderinu,Rotn(Oba) Gbenga Adeoye, and members of the state committee,PAG Adesokan Adewale,Rotn. Kazeem Olanrewaju and Rotn Awotiku.
Other Rotarians from the following clubs witnessed the tree planting-Rotary E-club of one Nigeria,Rotary club of Iyaganku Ibadan,Rotary club of Ibadan Ring road,Rotary club of Ibadan Pathfinder,Rotary club of Challenge and Rotary club of Oluyole Estate Ibadan.
The school management,Basorun Ogunmola High Sch. led by the Vice Principal,Admin,Mrs Adediji received the District Governor and the organisers.
